Since the introduction of 24hr drinking the average pub now opens for only 21 minutes longer each day than it did 10 years ago.Violence through drink is up 70% yet pub sales are down dramatically – at home no one says “enough is enough”.
Domestic violence and absenteeism have dramatically increased as more drinking is now unregulated.
In a pub/club, the Landlord has a legal obligation to say “Enough is Enough – Go Home”.
Licensing hours were introduced during World War 1 for women to ensure they got up and went to work doing the jobs men, now at war, were doing previously.
Britain, under New Labour now leads the civilised world in alcohol related violence and premature deaths, teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
The controlled drinking trade – pubs and clubs – have been decimated forcing thousands to close and causing huge unemployment in the pub and related trades; suppliers, staff, taxis and the food industry – ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Remember, Adolf Hitler started the first smoking ban shortly after Germany started “quantitative easing” or printing money they didn't have.
Our Aim is to apply pressure to Parliament to review the smoking ban in pubs and clubs by way of public opinion – YOURS!
1) To allow pubs with more than one room to designate one as a smoking room.
2) For open plan and single room pubs to have the choice to be either a smoking or smoke free pub.
3) To let us trade freely with our European Community Neighbours and buy tobacco products from them at the price they freely set – typically £1 - £2 per packet of 20 cigarettes.
